As Ukraine war bogs down, U.S. assessments face scrutiny
July 2, 2022, 9:58 AMCracks in the narrative. To this point it has been one sided to the extreme. Now, at last we get an even evaluation. The important thing about Afghanistan or even Vietnam is that in the 20 year and ten year period, the narrative was that we were always winning, victory was just another policy away, until the helicopters lifted out the refugees. It was one lie after another. A great book is “The Bright Shining Lie.”The point wasn’t to win, the point was to enrich The Military, Congressional, Industrial Complex, “Mission accomplished.” Today, the only stocks going up are defense, Raytheon is making out like the bandits they are.All these trillions wasted went into the pockets of our masters while the US citizen suffered and continues to suffer as the house of cards Ponzi Scheme crumbles. It’s hard to imagine a more corrupt group of leaders and their sycophants which is all of the so called intellectual establishment. They don’t seek truth, they hold their finger to the wind, write nonsense and pad their bank accounts. “Pity the poor spewers.” Pity us all!Congratulations! Congress is united, as they have always been United the past 70 years, one destructive killing fields after another.
Comment on:Opinion | Everyone’s talking about the endgame in Ukraine. Here’s how it might look.
17 hours agoThe West or US controls what Ukraine does. Obviously they want war, the US Congress has pledged 40 billion and one European country or another is falling all over itself in announcing new weapons support or going for photo ops in Kiev. On this July 4th there are Ukrainian flags alternating with American, propaganda well done, public opinion transformed, blame it on Putin.NATO has been resurrected at great expense to the US and Russia isolated. Obviously some one got what they wanted except for the slow inexorable advance of the Russian killing machine.Maybe, this, along with Kissinger’s remarks, is a trial balloon. Ukrainian reporting has seemed to go off the front pages as Russia advances and winter is coming and sanctions seem to be going the other way on the two edged sword. It is a dilemma. After all, Russia is just a gas station.Don’t you just love the drama drummed up by mass stupidity.Let’s see, Russian Ruble to dollar 54.4 down from 50.8. Sanctions are doing their job.We could stop shipping to India and China and about ten other countries, destroy their economies and cause them to hate us. Maybe, even the Germans will hate us as their economy crashes. Reminds you of Keynes describing the interconnectedness of the world economy at Versailles in 1918 and what the destruction of Germany would entail, of course he limited his observations to economics, didn’t foresee a Hitler. There are always consequences. It is so exciting!

Comment on:They don’t agree on abortion. Can their relationship survive post-Roe?
2 days agoLincoln and Republicans fought a Civil War that gave freedom to all. The Democrats were the party of slavers, KKK and Dixiecrats. For a shining moment, under FDR, they were the party of workers. Now, they seem to be the party of destruction, evil.replyReplies 1View Conversation
They don’t agree on abortion. Can their relationship survive post-Roe?
2 days agoValues are fundamental. Being pro or anti abortion is a fundamental, irreconcilable difference about the nature of living.Marriage, for over 50% and up from there for those that separate, is a failure. It is best to know thyself and choose a compatible partner. It was found, during the Korean War, studying American prisoners, that Americans had few sustaining values. They were easy prey to mind control.Popular culture is always transitory, no philosophy to base a life.We say we believe in inalienable rights, one being the right to life.
Comment on:Opinion | Rising interest rates will shackle the government — unless Congress acts
3 days agoThe US owes 30 trillion and they forecast 120 trillion. This mismanagement has been going on for years both party politicians yelling “Deficits don’t matter!”We have been becoming Argentina for 40 years, Peron, buy elections with government spending. Chuck Shumer said “We will transform the world!”The US is bankrupt; there is no solution, long term debt and cutting government spending is a pipe dream. We deserve what we get. Maybe it will shut up the immature ravers of banality.Reality is a difficult thing. The Federal reserve will open the spigots again and inflation will be hyper and the dollar worthless and the American Empire dead. Maybe history can be rewritten and the pipe dreams can continue.People only know the fantasies printed in the paper. This article gives pablum truth and Americans “Can’t handle the truth.”
Embattled Scholz, hosting first major summit, tries to prove mettle
5 days agoThe fashion of the moment does not last; real things intrude like energy and a vigorous economy. It is difficult to believe that the US narrative on Ukraine is the reigning political narrative in Germany. A push for increased military expenditures in Germany may be a toe hold to its own Military Industrial Complex and the destruction of the best economy in the Western World. Most weapons given Ukraine will be destroyed as Russia consolidates its gains in the East, constructs defenses and concentrates on infrastructure and military depots in the West.People forget the threat of nuclear war if weapons systems to Ukraine get too destructive. The war could have been negotiated away. Now it is to be prosecuted to the last Ukrainian standing. The Ruble keeps gaining in value and Western currencies go down In unison. The market seems to be making a statement.Good luck with controlling prices on Russia oil, it will just create more buyers, the low cost producer always wins.

2 weeks agoWe are our own victims. Each person is responsible for themselves; it is hard to be ignorant in the modern world with a wealth of information; you have to be proactive in acquiring it, using it and figuring out if it has value. The hard part is figuring out value, you can use pragmatism, what works in your situation or you can use the wisdom of the ages or tap into the intelligence in the universe.A self proclaimed victim or the victims of fashion are apt to be forever beyond help. Only you, with the help of God,can right the vagaries of life. No one has an easy road; life is meant to be difficult, we make it more difficult in our minds. There are so many raptures in living. Christ said, “I have come to give abundant life.” That journey entails recreating all your basic values, becoming God centered, then you have “The peace that the world can not give.” There are so many wonderful things for those that have “Eyes to see and ears to hear.” Don’t settle for fools gold.View Conversation

2 weeks agoHer predicament is because of her own action or inactions. Action are directed by knowledge and beliefs, provident or improvident thinking. Zig Ziegler called anything that hinders your progression towards happiness and success “Stinking Thinking.”Most agree, teen sex is inevitable. Modern birth control, as convienent and reliable as it is, there is no excuse for not using it.We are all masters of our own fate. If your not up to it, like myself, you can always elicit God’s help. He advises, you do. thumb_upLike 1expand_morereplyReplies 1View Conversation

2 weeks agoA provocative article. So much more than just abortion. Pregnancy just happens to be the easiest most immediate predicament the girl got herself into, she quit school at 15, she quit real estate school. Her family origins are deplorable. She is a story written over millions of lives in modern America, people for one reason or another I’ll prepared to cope with life, no values, no philosophy, no ability to overcome. No religion, no realization that Christ is the answer. An answer needed more than ever.Tens of millions foundering like alcoholics in self inflicted pain need to realize there always is “A Higher Power.” The only important salvation is here and now and it entails the transformation of self, the first step is God.

Comment on:Opinion | China’s military expansion is reaching a dangerous tipping point
2 weeks ago67 billion in new military Asian investment. We sent 40 billion to Ukraine. There is nothing we can do to stop China. The best solution is to take the trillion a year we spend on the military and redirect it to rebuilding the American manufacturing infrastructure, making America economically independent.China was created by the false idea of free trade, American corporate money pouring in to create higher profits from cheap labor destroying American jobs.China is a juggernaut, the world order is already changed and enhanced with Russia being forced into the Chinese orbit.American leaders are in the crazy stage of empire, Napoleon, Alexander the Great. They have created a bankrupt, “Paper Tiger.”

2 weeks agoA very bleak picture. I always regretted leaving Utah, not anymore; when I first moved there, the population was one million, now it is pushing four.It seems to be unsustainable.Used to like visiting ghost towns, there might be many more and much bigger in ten years. The great aquifer agriculture production miracle seems to be over.We will inevitably be downsized.Better close the border and let populations naturally subside as the American birth rate indicates.

Comment on:Opinion | Donald Graham: Watergate resonated because The Post reported the truth
2 weeks agoWatergate was the fury of its time. Somewhat like January 6. A fury that snowballed into a avalanche of public opinion. I was one of the duped. Now I ask, what did Nixon actually do that no other politician had done in spades, even my beloved hero Franklin D Roosevelt. The elite always hated Nixon. They hate Trump.I believe in God, that life is a struggle and that most things emanating from the Post are lies.America has been destroyed and the 40% that could save her are vilified. It’s all history and some history should die.Americans can’t even remember last months frenzy.

2 weeks agoWhat the US is doing is a declaration of war. There could be dire consequences. At least military contractors will be making money. To base opinions about Ukraine on what you read in American newspapers and see on TV is ludicrous.
